  Meet the Vets of Ledgewood Equine Veterinary Clinic


David K. Trachtenberg, DVM and LEVC Owner

 

Dr. TrachtenbergDr. Trachtenberg is a graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, and is the owner of LEVC. He has practiced medicine in New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and began his own ambulatory practice in 1994. He is experienced in lameness evaluations, reproduction and general medicine. He has worked as a professional rider and trainer and is an avid dressage competitor when time permits.

 
 


Rolfe Radcliffe, DVM, DACVS

 
Dr. Radcliffe
Dr. Radcliffe is a board certified surgeon who performed his residency at the University of Minnesota. Before joining LEVC he was a member of the surgery team at the University of Guelph in Canada and is currently on the surgery staff at Cornell. His experience includes arthroscopy, laparoscopy, fracture repair, colic surgeries and airway surgeries.
 
 

Kent Burgesser, DVM, PhD, MS, DACVO

 

Dr. BurgesserDr. Burgesser is board-certified in ophthalmology. He received his DVM (Magna Cum Laude) from Colorado State University, where he also earned a Master of Science degree in Ophthamology. He also has a PhD in Biological Science from the University of Denver, and he did an internship at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. He has numerous publications in his field.

 
 

Elizabeth Bush, DVM

 
Dr. Elizabeth Bush
Dr. Elizabeth Bush grew up in Lexington, Kentucky where she has actively participated in many aspects of the equine industry. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from the University of Kentucky in 2001 before completing her DVM degree at Auburn University in Alabama in 2007. Following vet school she completed a one-year internship at Arizona Equine Medical and Surgical Centre, one of the largest equine clinics serving the southwest. Before entering vet school she evented with her horse Desi, who is now enjoying the lush New York pastures (as opposed to the Arizona heat). Her primary areas of interest include neonatology, reproduction and sports medicine.
 

Valerie Lalonde, DVM

 

Dr. LalondeDr. Valerie Lalonde graduated from the University of Montreal in 2009 and is now enjoying a one year internship at Ledgewood Equine Veterinary Clinic. While in vet school, she had the opportunity to travel to Peru for over 3 months to volunteer and work with local veterinarians with a variety of species (alpacas, sheep, horses, sea mammals, guinea pigs...). After the internship, she hopes to finally acquire her own horse and Great Dane! She enjoys all outdoors activities and traveling. Her areas of interest are ophthalmology, reproduction and behaviour.

 

And the Hospital Farrier

Dallas Morgan, DJF, Dipl. WCF

 
Dallas Morgan
Dallas is originally from Australia, and has been shoeing horses in the US for the last 14 years. He was the attending farrier at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine before moving to New York. Dallas has traveled extensively as a member of the American Farriers Team as a competitor, clinician and judge.
