  Meet the Staff of Ledgewood Equine Veterinary Clinic, PC


Kristina Allen, LVT, Hospital Manager

 

Kristina AllenKristina, our hospital manager and one of our licensed technicians, joined LEVC in 2002 after completing two years of pre-veterinary studies at Andrews University in Michigan and then the Saint Petersburg College's distance veterinary technology program. Prior to LEVC she had worked as an equestrian program director, manager and instructor. In her spare time Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband Bob, young son, Jimmy, German shepherd, Diesel, and Appendix QH, Tess.

 
 


Debbie McIlhagga, Senior LVT

 
Debbie McIlhagga
Debbie joined the LEVC team in 2000 where she works as a senior licensed technician. She has a special interest in anesthesia and performs this duty on most of our surgeries. Debbie graduated from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY in 1992.

Each year Debbie has several entries at the Erie County Fair in the Creative Arts section featuring her photography, needlepoint and crocheting talents. She currently holds a 2nd degree black belt in Isshin Ryu. Debbie enjoys hiking and Geocaching with her miniature horse Dino and also keeps several other pets including 3 Doves, an Amazon Parrot, several Java Rice finches, and a happy spoiled guinea pig named Bart.
 
 

Lindsay Foxluger, LVT

 

Lindsay FoxlugerLindsay Foxluger started working at LEVC in November of 2008. She is a licensed veterinary technician who graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2005. Originally from Fairport, Lindsay moved to Syracuse after college and practiced emergency and internal medicine with small animals. Now she has moved back to Fairport and divides her time working in small animal medicine as well as working here with us here at Ledgewood in equine medicine. Lindsay has a retired thoroughbred from the Finger Lakes Race Track and they have just started competing in the local eventing scene. Look for Lindsay and Maverick at the local horse trials and say hello.

 
 

Gretchen Roberts, Hospital Assistant

Gretchen has been a part of the Ledgewood team for 2 years, making our work-days brighter. She enjoys trail riding, team penning, and barrel racing. She also rides motocross and enjoys spending summers on the lake. She has 5 horses, 1 larger-then-life beef cow, 4 rabbits, 5 cats and 4 dogs, including a very special weiner dog named Shasta.
 

Sharon Benson, Financial Manager

 

Sharon BensonSharon joined the practice in January 2007, bringing more than 16 years in office administrations and accounting. Sharon competed in Hunter Jumper during school, and was active in dog rescue for more than a decade; including transport, fostering and training. She spends as much time as she can with her canine family, whether it is hiking with her golden retriever cross Bella or reading a novel with handsome house mate Hudson, a Saint Bernard, on her lap, and is hoping to add to her family another Saint candidate for competing in backpacking and trail soon. She is also working on restoring her 1969 American Motors AMX with her father.

 
 

Helen Nevelizer, Client Manager

 
Helen Nevelizer
Helen started at LEVC in 1999. She has an A.A.S. degree in farm and stable management from Cazenovia College. Helen had worked previously on a morgan breeding farm, at a private boarding facility and as a thoroughbred groom in New York and Florida. Before joining the Ledgewood team, she spent 2 years on a thoroughbred breeding farm in Kentucky, prepping and offering yearlings for sale at Keeneland and working in the foaling barn during the foaling season.

Helen's personal interests include bird watching, home decorating and remodeling, landscaping and spoiling her son, Nicholas.
