surgery wing that includes two surgery rooms, one
for orthopedics and the other for soft tissue procedures,
and two fully padded areas, one for induction to
prepare the horse for surgery and the other for
recovery after surgery

intensive-care unit for neonatal and older horse
care with 24-hour monitoring

A
separate isolation ward for suspected contagious
diseases to ensure the safety of all occupants

Large,
fully equipped examination area with steel horse
stocks

Fully
equipped laboratory to conduct on-site blood tests,
chemistry tests and cultures

Large
stalls in a heated concrete block area with video
monitoring capability

Indoor
and outdoor riding areas for lameness, prepurchase
and other evaluations
The
hospital has many diagnostic capabilities, including:
- 3-meter
video endoscope unit for gastrointestinal, respiratory
and neurologic examinations
- 2.5
MHz – 10.0 MHz ultrasound unit for soft tissue
and reproductive examinations
- High
energy in-house and portable x-ray units for leg,
skull, thorax and other examinations
- Thermography
unit for lameness and other problems
- Laparoscopic
equipment that allows minimally invasive surgery
to treat many soft tissue surgical procedures
- Arthroscopic
equipment that also permits minimally invasive
surgery for orthopedic procedures
Ambulatory
Services
LEVC
has full-time ambulatory veterinarians who are on
call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. We serve a
wide area of upstate New York that centers in the
counties of Wayne, Monroe, and Ontario. We also
have client bases in the Buffalo and Syracuse areas
that we schedule for regular visits.
